Township Board of Supervisors
Townships are different government of bodies that have different obligations required under state law than city and county governments. The most common responsibility known by the public is the maintenance of rural township roads, such as the ones around Lake Poinsett. The township boards are required to have meetings on the last Tuesday in February, their annual meeting which elections are open nominations from the floor on the first Tuesday in March, equalization meeting in the middle of March, reorganizational meetings at the end of March, and a required meeting on the last Tuesday in October. Other meetings may be done throughout the year. Please contact the clerk in the township for additional information.
